One of the most surprisingly cool things we did on our trip was go on a sunset dinner cruise. We thought this would just be a little cruise around the ocean until the sun set. Since it was the end of March, we hit the tail end of whale watching season. We were lucky to see 4 types of whales. Spinner dolphins, the bottle nose dolphin, false killer whales and the hump-back whale. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my life. I have never been whale watching nor did I ever want to go. However, there is just something magnificent about these huge mammals. They just kept swimming all around the boat and we were able to take hundreds of pictures. I apologize in advance for the amount of pictures on this post, it was hard to condense it down to only a few. Words cannot express how beautiful this evening was, the whales, the sunset and everything.

And need I say anything about this beautiful sunset?
|
There was lots of snuggling going on!

Unloading the boat is quite a process

And then it was over...
My dream! I want to go on a little whale-watching excursion...I even woke Sam up in the middle of the night to tell him that (after I had a dream about whale watching). What beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteMelanie, we had so much fun! I would definitely recommend going to Maui in March (whale watching season ends in April). It is definitely my favorite thing to do now. These huge amazing whales are amazing.
