KateLyn's Awards Ceremony

This week was a busy week for my kids. It just so happens that Russ and I had to work most of the week and we missed choir concerts, math night and Kate's awards assembly. Torri is an awesome big sister and she hurried after work to the awards assembly (her final was the night of the choir concert too). She was able to take pictures of the night for me.

Memorial Day

My cousin Jan and her husband Chris invited us over for a BBQ on Memorial Day.  It was 78 degrees that day but they had warmed their pool up to 89 degrees.  It was a fun day of swimming and yummy food.

Dinner after graduation

We let Jordan choose where he wanted to eat after graduation and he decided on Bahama Breeze.
This picture was taken from the Thomas and Mack steps after graduation.

Jordan rode with me and loved taking pictures of everything we passed.

Jordan's Graduation

Jordan earned his AS in Computing and Information Technology from the College of Southern Nevada just one year after finishing high school.  We thought this was an awesome accomplishment so we encouraged him to attend his graduation.  It was quite an ordeal to actually get him into the car (since he thought it was stupid).  He kept telling us he would be continuing his education and earning a Bachelors and Masters degree so he thought getting an Associate degree was dumb.  I finally left for the graduation with Kate and Weston and left Russ and Joe home.  It took some talking but Russ finally urged him into the car and he barely made it with five minutes to spare.  Afterwards, he came up and thanked me for making him go and told me he thought it was pretty cool after all.  What do I know...I'm just the mom!

The graduation was short and sweet and to the point.

Torri and Bryce came straight from work to the graduation.

Jordan's Birthday

Since Jordan spent his Birthday in Seattle and Montana this year, we decided to celebrate when he came home. Jordan loves Olive Garden but there was an hour wait. We talked him into going to dinner across the street at Outback Steakhouse. It wasn't Olive Garden but I think it was a close second.
Afterwards, we came home and opened presents and had cake and ice cream.

Jordan was pleasantly surprised to get a new guitar.

I've never seen a smile that big on Jordan before.

He played...

And played...

AND PLAYED!  All night until his fingers were bleeding.

These pictures were taken at dinner.
