Oops, I did it again!
Russell's brother Jim and his family recently moved to Henderson from Kansas City, Missouri. I think it has been a little bit of culture shock for them but I think they are realizing Las Vegas has normal people who work normal jobs and live in normal houses. It will be nice to have more family around since we have kids that are the same ages. We have always lived so far apart that our kids have never really gotten to know each other. Hopefully, we can build a bridge and get to know each other a little better. This past weekend their son Levi was baptized. Russell's parents & sister Lynette came for the baptism too and I managed to spend the entire weekend without taking one picture. Ugh...I must be losing it! I guess I have an excuse since the baptism was at 5:00 pm and it was dark outside afterwards. The weekend went by much too fast! My favorite part was playing games until the wee hours of the morning. It was nice having an extra hour with daylight savings time.

Can't believe its too much of a culture shock unless they came from rural MO. Downtown Kansas City has got it going on with a population as big as SLC with a lot more to do (and they have the casinos too). :-)
ReplyDeleteAnn, they actually lived in Smithville which is much smaller. They say they are havingh a hard time adjusting to Vegas. However, they realize that people are actually pretty normal here.
