It's NO secret that I HATE Mother's Day! My mom hated Mother's Day too so it is a family tradition in my family. For some reason Mother's Day is NOT a day of celebration for me. I am once again reminded that I DON'T have a mom and I don't quite measure up on this day. My poor hubby and kids go over and beyond the call of duty to try to make this a fun day for me. However, I mostly spend the day in bed or lounging around the house in my jammies. This year was no different, it was just a little easier since my poor hubby was sick with the flu all weekend. Plus, I NEVER go to church on Mother's Day. I made that mistake a few times and I left early crying. I love being a mom and I love my kids...however, the talks at church are always about wonderful women who defy all odds to be not just mothers but Hero's! I don't need other people to make me feel more inadequate than I already do.

Here are the pictures of the fabulous gifts and flowers I came home to Saturday night. I am wearing the new jammies my hubby gave me in the picture but its hard to see them. My hubby made me pose for this picture as a reminder that they DO LOVE and CARE for me. I need to have a change of heart about Mother's Day...why can't it just be I love you day? Russ promises to take me to Disneyland next year. He knows I will like that day even if it's Mother's day. Sounds like a good idea to me!
Lauralyn,
ReplyDeleteYou are an amazing mom.....you always have been and always will be. Please don't be so hard on yourself. There are always things that we think we should of, could of, done better or different. The secret is, even if we had done "those things better or different", we'd still be saying we should, could of.
Be proud of who your children are, they are that way BECAUSE OF YOU and RUSS!!! They are amazing, wonderful kids and young adults who make this world a better place. You helped give them the foundation for who they are becoming.
Breathe, enjoy and BELIEVE when your family tells you YOU ARE THE BESTEST!!! They mean it. You have no idea how many moms look up to you and wish they were more like you.
I <3 You,
Margo
You are sweet...but I will forever feel like I don't quite measure up. It's in my blood! I am very proud of my kids...just not proud of their mom. Thanks for your kind words. :-)
